You might be wondering, "Why does this website look like it's straight outta 1999?" Well, let me tell you
why I've chosen to rock this retro style:
- 90s Internet Nostalgia: I'm a big fan of the internet from the 90s and early 2000s.
It was a time of discovery, when every website felt like a new world to explore. This design takes
me back to those exciting days of dial-up modems and "You've Got Mail!" or "Buzz" from Yahoo!
Messenger.
- Keep It Simple, Surfer: Modern websites can be overwhelming with their flashy
designs and complex layouts. This 90s style keeps things simple and straightforward. No need for
fancy animations or pop-ups here!
- Nostalgia Overload: Every time I look at this page, I get hit with a wave of
nostalgia. It reminds me of chatting on ICQ and Yahoo! Messenger, customizing my GeoCities page, and
the excitement of
downloading a song that took hours (only to find out it wasn't the right one).
- No Frills, Just Content: Unlike modern websites, there's no tracking, no cookies to
accept, no ads popping up, and no comment sections to moderate. It's just you, me, and the content -
the way the web was meant to be!
So sit back, relax, and enjoy this blast from the past. Who knows, you might even hear the sweet sound of
a dial-up connection if you listen closely enough! π
